How-to: Write down at the top of the page your challenge in the form of a How Might We question. Next, think and write down the most crazy way that you can solve the challenge. Take just a couple of minutes to do this and then pass the sheet onto the next person. They then have to make your idea ‘slightly’ less crazy. Again, pass it on and the third person must then work their magic to create an almost workable idea. The final person will then finish the idea to make it as desirable, viable and feasible as possible.
Purpose: Crazy ideas are a great source of stimulus and can often provide innovative ways of solving the problem. Your first idea may seem crazy, but by refining your idea and having other people provide their input and different perspectives your idea will become much more workable and will contain increasingly more insight.
