We stumbled across an infographic created by Michael J Barry, The Qualities of a Great Leader in an Age of Disruption, detailing ten very clear qualities in a leader. The infographic was on high rotation here at G2 and with our Leading Innovation Masterclass coming up in Melbourne in September (see our previous blog for 5 Things You’ll Learn in our Leading Innovation Workshop), it got us thinking about the qualities that make a successful innovation leader.
They are passionate visionaries who foster a culture of innovation by encouraging, mentoring and inspiring their team to invest in the vision too. Sounds simple, but many of the qualities such as empathy, openness or lifelong learner are quite different to qualities traditionally associated with leaders. (Look no further than our global leaders except for New Zealand).
Are you an innovation leader? What qualities have best served you?
